JIMS Kalkaji organized Finance Seminar on "Chasing the Horizon: Green Financial System" on 8th January, 2022. Dr Neelam Tandon, HOD -PGDM, JIMS Kalkaji started the event by welcoming everyone. Further discussing about the topic that how climate change poses new challenges to Central bank, regulators and supervisors she invited Dr. Satish Seth, Advisor to Chairman of JIMS to deliver a welcome address. Mr. Bharat Moossadde, Chief Guest, CFO - Mahindra and Mahindra shared his views upon the topic highlighting the implementation at institutional, governmental and investors level. Dr. Naliniprava Tripathy, Dean-Finance and Control - IIM Shillong highlighted the significance of low carbon economy. Dr. Raj Singh, Professor of Practice- University of California spoke about various Green Finance Projects, Pollution prevention and control. Mr. B.M.K Gupta, Deputy General Manager, PNB, Zonal office, New Delhi acclaimed PNB as 127 years young organization. He mentioned several loan initiatives for E-vehicles, solar panels, etc. Dr. Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Director-Centre for Management studies, Jamia Millia Islamia University reflected on the formidable challenges in road of 'Green Finance' in India. CA Nitin Vashista, Director of Finance, PHDCCI shared different physical and transitional risks with greenhouse gases. Mr. Gaurav Kulshreshtha, SVP – Head of Investment Strategy, Citi Bank iterated about the cost of green finance projects. Prof. Anil Kumar, Professor, Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi briefed about the policy initiatives taken by India and abroad. JIMS Kalkaji organized a Round Table with DCCU University Bucharest, Romania on the topic The Challenges of Covid19 Pandemic on Higher Education: Global Perspectives, Local Experiences on December 7, 2021. The eminent panelists included Ms. Alina Pop, Vice Director, Miculescu Marius Nicolae, Dean, Dr. Ivona Rapan, Associate Professor, Alexandru Stefanes, Associate Professor from DCCU, Bucharest, Romania and Dr. Satish Seth, Advisor to Chairman, Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director, Dr. Neelam Tandon, HOD, PGDM, Dr. Navneet Gera, HOD, PGDM (IB), Dr. Nupur Rao, Professor, Dr. Sanjeela Mathur, Associate Professor from JIMS Kalkaji. JIMS, Kalkaji in collaboration with Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), organized an online International Seminar on "Global Supply Chain Crisis: Impact on International Trade of India and other Developing Countries" on 27th Nov, 2021. JIMS Webinar on "Paving our way through times of Covid: Being a student- an experience on its own is both a challenge and an opportunity" on 8th August, 2020:


JIMS, Kalkaji organized a Webinar on "Paving our way through times of Covid: Being a student- an experience on its own is both a challenge and an opportunity" by Ms. Hargun Kaur Gujral who is a masters in Psycho-Social Clinical Studies and holds a license from CID-Unesco (France) to practice as an Expressive Arts Therapist. She is a trained PGD in guidance and counselling with young adults and teens. In her session she explained screen time management, how to use time as an opportunity to bond and build self care, deal with anxieties and fear of an uncertain future, management and building of life skills required in the changing times, reflecting on what learning really means to each, discovering creative ways to lead a healthy lifestyle and management of money. The students were highly satisfied with this session and got useful tips to combat difficulties in life.

National Seminar on “Building Sustainable Future for Youth on 17th January 2020:


National Seminar was organized by the BBA & BCom(H) Department, on 17-01-2020 on the topic “Building Sustainable Future for Youth” in JIMS, Kalkaji. Inaugural Session was started with Lamp Lighting ceremony and invoking Godess Lakshmi for the blessings. Welcome Address was given by DG, JIMS Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, followed by Chief Guest Dr. Poonam Batra (Professor, Central Institute of Education, Delhi University, addressed the audience. Vote of Thanks was given by Programme Director, JIMS, Prof. (Dr.) Rashmi Bhatia, who conceptualized the entire Seminar. Many eminent speakers from Industry and Government shared their insights on the topic. The speakers included Mr Tushar Pandey (Head, Financial Services and Policy-Dehaat), Mr. Aditya Pundir (Country Manager, Climate Project-India) and Mr. Krishnan Sachdeva (Practice Head, Business Analysis, IRIS Software). Research Paper Presentation Competition was also scheduled for Academicians from all over India, 1st prize was bagged by Ms. Anjali Pandy , Galgotia University and second prize winner was Ms. Renu Mehta, SPM College, Delhi University.

Faculty & Students attended PHDCII International Week – 15th -19th March 2021:


Prof. Rashmi Bhatia, Programme Director and Ms Deeksha, Assistant Professor, along with students of BBA & BCom (H) department attended PHD Chamber of Commerce International Week from 15th – 19th March, 2021. JIMS Kalkaji was one of the esteemed institutions to be a part of the week-long seminar. The students gained knowledge about the geographical and demographic conditions and trade relations and practices between India and various countries such as USA and Latin America, South east Asia, etc.

Staff Development Program on "Emotions-The lens to the World." on Saturday 13th March 2021:


JIMS, Kalkaji organized Staff Development Program on "Emotions- The lens to the World." on Saturday 13th March 2021 by Ms. Bhoomika. The one day training was conducted to provide employees a broad knowledge of self advancement in terms of emotions which would lead the employees to understand interpersonal relationships at the workplace too. The following two activities were performed – Chit picking – every employee had to enact on the emotions ad others to recognize the emotion and Expressing thoughts- The trainer asked all the employees to draw emotions on a sheet a paper.

Workshop on "HR Analytics" from 2nd-7th November, 2020:


JIMS, Kalkaji organized a Workshop on "HR Analytics" from 2nd-7th November, 2020. A six day HR Analytics workshop was conducted to provide an overview of HR analytics as well as several hands-on demonstrations. Participants learnt to conduct analyses using open-source software and how to critically examine and present insights that can be used to drive organizational change. Various topics related to HR Analytics were covered and a details discussion happened on the relevant topics. The topics included an introduction to HR Metrics/ and HR Analytics to begin with, Predictive Analytics, HR Audit and Accounting , HR Scorecard, Visual Analytics in HR using Excel and Tableau, HR Organisational Network Analysis, Intuitive v/s Analytical Decision Making and Practical Application of HR Analytics. A total of 30 plus participants were part of this workshop. The participants were from various backgrounds like corporate, academics and students community as well. It was a great learning session for one and all and more such events were demanded by the participants.

The session was taken by Mr. Naresh Priyadarshi, CEO, IIITD Innovation and Incubation Center. who discussed five phases of Design Thinking—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. The students were introduced to the concepts of digital prototyping and how to aptly develop a digital mindset. It was an interactive and stimulating discussion.

Inter Campus Training of maintenance of Institutional data on 4th January, 2020:


For maintaining Institutional Documents on Google Drive a training session was organized in JIMS Kalkaji on 4th January 2019 by Dr. Seema Agarwal, Joint Registrar, JIMS Kalkaji. HODs, Faculty and staff members from all JIMS campuses attended the training.

Visit of Spanish Professor address:


Ms. Laetitia Rella, Professor, EADA University Barcelona along with Leena Upadhaya, Regional Director-South Asia/South East Asia, addressed BBA & BCom (H) students on various Post Graduate options available in EADA, Barcelona. It was an interactive session, as students were made aware about various options available in the famous Spanish city.

Workshop on Digital Detox:


A workshop on the topic Digital Detox was conducted in the campus on 31-01-2020 by Brahma Kumaris. The panel included Dr. Reena Tomar, Mr. Pradeep Narula and BK Sister Sujata. The students were told about topics like stress management and staying healthy in today’s times.  

ANDC-JIMS Business Incubator:


The Fourth  , of the series of workshops on ‘The Disruption Challenge’ , planned over a period of the first quarter of the year , was held on 9th September, 2019 . The workshop was conducted by Mr Abhshek Patwa and Mr Aditya Misra from Instart-Incubation on JIMS Campus. Mr Shadab Mobin CEO, Instart Incubator and Ms Sanjeela Mathur, Faculty-in charge of Incubator presided over the workshop.
The workshop , in continuation with the design thinking process was a combination of case studies and hands-on activities which brought the process of planning and execution of ideas to the next level. . This entire exercise was done through a ‘Lithe  Canvas’ which aims to propose a business model by undertaking the design thinking process.

CAMPUS TO CORPORATE :


The session started on 2nd Sept 2019 with 2 aluminis; Ms Prameet Kaur, Ms. Niharika, who shared their real life corporate experience and their actual journey JIMS Kalkaji campus to the corporate. This session was praised the most by the students of final year. The alumni explained the importance of participation in various events and how these small or participations bring big change to the overall personality of the student. They gave insight of how corporate actually works and how and where to approach. They told about how their college journey proved to be the stepping stone in their career planning. 
After this a guest lecture by Mr. Anuranjan Gupta, Training Head, Oriental Bank of Commerce was delivered under the campus to corporate program for final year undergraduate students. The lecture started with a welcome address by one of the student and presentation of JIMS green initiative, a sapling, to the Guest Speaker. Mr. Anuranjan Gupta enlightened the students under the title “Scope and Opportunities for Career in Banking”. Her talk started with a stimulating video by Jay Shetty where he encourages the audience not to get stuck in the rut but to go according to one's own clock and that forms the foundation of the complete lecture where she also says that uniqueness should be honored and preserved and careers should be built thereafter. She cited a lot of anecdotes of putting forth her point and for reinforcing the learning as she steered ahead in her talk in storytelling style. She also gave away tips for writing a good and crisp resume as our students prepare for the forthcoming placement season
Later a session on Corporate Fashion by Ms. Sahiba was conducted where she delivered Personality Development insights to the students. It was extremely informative and interactive.  The students got a glimpse of how one should develop their personalities as she highlighted the dress code, body language as per the corporate standards. She gave a demo of good and bad demo and also on how to posses the posture and gesture for an interview
Further to add Ms. Jasleen Rana helped the students to know about all the companies that come for the placements and the respective pay packages offered. She also gave the guidance upon what the companies which come for placement expects from the students and on how to crack their requirements. She told the students to gear up for the placements this year.
Thereafter Mr. Aishwarya Gupta, Chief Manager Danik Bhaskar gave insight of of Digital Media and how corporate actually works and how and where to approach. The lecture started with a welcome address by one of the student and presentation of JIMS green initiative, a sapling, to the Guest Speaker.The students were given a glimpse of the situation that brings them to think of the corporate expectations as they are about to finish their final year in college and move ahead. Mr. Aishwarya Gupta explained he importance of Linked In and how it can be a booster for a career. The lecture was full of information and helpful for the students in terms of knowledge they gained about the way a corporation makes entry of freshers.

Workshop on Digital Marketing:


10 days workshop on Digital Marketing was done in JIMS, Kalkaji campus from 10th June 2019 to 20th June 2019 for BBA and B.COM(H) students. The session was taken by Mr. Kush Bhardwaj, IIM Consultant to multiple industries. Students had detailed hands on for several Digital Marketing techniques like Email-Marketing, Google Ads, V-logging etc. They were also taught about Search Engine Optimization. The session was concluded with an Industry interaction session where in top digital marketers from top MNCs guided the students on future aspects of Digital Marketing. It was an overall very good and educating experience for the students.

Workshop on "Yoga and Meditation":


A Workshop was held in the auditorium of JIMS, Kalkaji on 10th April at 12pm on the topic of Yoga and Meditation. Dr. Sanyukta Chaudhary presented a PowerPoint presentation on different types of aasans and postures to keep your body fit.
The workshop started with Dr. Sanyukta telling about 8 different stages of Yoga that are performed and achieved by all the spiritual speakers. She also talked about the mental well-being and health of an individual can be improved by following only 3-4 stages of yoga.
Dr. Sanyukta also talked about how to develop confidence in one’s personality according to Yogic Science that is to Chin Up! Whenever you talk to anyone or you sit. Eye-To-Eye contact while talking is also a very important aspect in boosting confidence.
Students of BBA and BCOM attended the workshop and performed various kinds of yoga postures and breathing exercises. She also talked about how to resolve different kinds of neck issues, breathing problems and many more health problems with yoga.
It was a really nice and interactive session and students also got to learn many new things that they could do to stay healthy and fit.

Workshop on “Gender Sensitization and Equity”:


The stooping status of women in the society is majorly attributed to gender differential mindsets based on socio-cultural construct. It is imperative to render scriptural clarity, on the basis of which customary cultures take their form.To bridge these mindets , JIMS Kalkaji organised a workshop on “Gender Sensitization and Equity” for BBA and BCOM students on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in College auditorium.This workshop was conducted by  Dr. Monica Chaudhary, Assistant Professor,Faculty of Law,University of Delhi.

The workshop was divided into 2 sessions.The details of each session are as follows:

Session 1 :- “Introduction to unfair treatment towards women and violent acts” from 1100-1230 hrs

Dr. Monica Chaudhary started the workshop by stating that Gender Sensitivity and equity is a very sensitive issue and it prevails in many countries including India. Despite all progress in art, literature, governance and science & technology the world has not been able to remove the gender discrimination. Men still dominate over women. Gender inequality fuels violence against women and results in power imbalances.
She stated that one cannot deny that the crimes against women are of deep concern in India. For every severe crime, there should be quick punishment with transparency of true investigation.
The need of the hour is to take such severe actions that render an equal space and independence in the society.
She also elucidated the recent crimes and amendments that have been made in criminal laws in this direction.

The session was followed by tea/coffee break of half an hour from 1230-1300 hrs.

Session 2 – Loopholes in laws to address Gender Issues - 1300-1400 hrs

The second session comprised of a detailed discussion on the loopholes that prevail in laws to address gender issues.She stated that while some laws are openly discriminated against women other laws create gender inequalities in indirect ways and thus there is a need to identify them and amend them for ensuring equality in law.She stated that once the laws are strong the speed of change in this direction will increase.
She then elaborated on the procedure of filing of FIRs and details of approaching authorities that women can contact in times of distress and unfair treatment.She encouraged the youth to extend their help to victims they identify and encourage them to fight for justice and the right.
She ended the session by highlighting the relevance of gender sensitization in education. Gender awareness pertains to one’s effort to show how gender shapes the role of women and men in society including their role in development and how it affects relations between them and thus she urged that the education system needs to be gender sensitive and gender friendly.She said that one of the best possible strategies to minimise gender discrimination in society is to promote gender awareness at all levels of society.

Overall the workshop was an eye opener to severity of the need of gender sensitization and equity and urged students to rethink and motivate others to transform their mindsets.

JIMS Kalkaji organised a workshop on “Intellectual Property (IP) an accelerated pathway to be an Unicorn” for BBA and BCOM students on Tuesday, April 2nd 2019 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in College auditorium This workshop was conducted by  Mr. Vivek Dahiya and Saurabh Trivedi, directors of Boudhik Ventures Private Limited.
Boudhik Ventures (BV) came into existence to develop an ecosystem
facilitating ideas sailing through industry for public benefits.The firm aims at teaming up with innovators, entrepreneurs & organizations to assist them by developing strategies revolving around business growth, in domestic as well as global market, on the basis of innovative concepts.

The workshop was divided into 3 sessions.The details of each session are as follows:

Session 1 :- “Importance of Intellectual Property Rights in business” from 10am-11am

The first session was conducted by Mr. Saurabh trivedi who highlighted the “Importance of Intellectual Property Rights in business”.
He elucidated that in today's competitive environment, innovation is the mainstay for every business that leads to development of intellectual property. Identifying, developing, and leveraging innovation provides competitive edge and aids in long term success of the company. Intellectual property is not limited to technology companies, but is valuable for every business which invests huge sums in research and development for creating indigenous products and services. He explained that Intellectual Property are important to businesses as they are intangible assets that can be financially exploited because like physical property, they can be sold or licensed. Every business possesses such assets whether they are aware of it or not.He concluded by saying that when a business is establishing its presence in the marketplace, protecting and managing its intellectual property is critical as it can mean the difference between success or failure. That is why it is important for businesses to understand the different forms of intellectual property because some involve a formal application and examination process before a right can be registered while others come into play without the need for a registration process.

The session was followed by tea/coffee break of half an hour from 11-11.30.

Session 2 – Interaction with students - 11.30am-12.30pm

The second session comprised of an open discussion and interaction with students wherein Mr. Saurabh Trivedi encouraged them to innovate and create and capitalize on that creation/innovation through patents and copyrights.Students asked him various questions related to filing of patents and copyrights along with the basis on which each is granted.    

The second session was followed by a lunch from 12.30pm – 1pm.

Session 3 – Relevance of Intellectual Property Rights for Management students – 1pm-2pm.

Mr. Vivek Dahiya conducted the final session on “Relevance of Intellectual Property Rights for Management students”. He explained them the different types of Intellectual Property Rights. He also explained the relation between Law and Marketing and, through different examples, he explained the relevance and importance of the proper use of branding. During the session,the students had the chance to discuss different concepts such as patents and the relation between technology and ethics. He explained the relevance of IPR  for the students by explaining them the ways by which they can copyright/patent their self-created content and research work.

Overall the session was great learning experience which comprehensively elucidated the world of Intellectual Property rights to both students and teachers.

JIMS, Kalkaji organized Post Budget Panel Discussion on "Union Budget 2021: A hit or a miss?" virtually on 19th February 2021. The program aimed was organized to get insights into the intricacies of Union Budget 2021 and discuss the dimensions pertaining to it. The resource persons for the Panel Discussion were the renowned names from the field of taxation and economics like CA Dr. Girish Ahuja, Former Associate Professor of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Sr. Faculty member Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Faculty member Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Committee of ICAI, Ms. Ritika Tulsyan, Manager, Tax, PwC, Mr. Lohit Vatsa, Consultant, Tax & Regulatory Services, Vatsa & Associates and Mr. Akhil Swami, Expert Economic Affairs. Counselling session for second-year students towards the choice of electives on 15th July 2020:


JIMS Kalkaji organized an Online Counseling Session for PGDM & PGDM (IB) 2019-21 batch on 15th July 2020. The session was organized with an aim to ensure that students are able to identify the right career path wherein faculties from respective specialization apprised students by giving a brief of all the functional areas. Faculty members of various domain advised students on making right career choice with respect to specializations in the streams of Finance, HR, Marketing, HR, Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director JIMS, Kalkaji delivered special address to the students which was then followed by Question and Answer session..



Alumni Meet 2020:


JIMS Kalkaji organized Online Alumni Meet 2020 for all its Alumni batches from 27th June, 2020 till July, 2020 on each Saturday. Alumni interaction was very fruitful as they shared their most memorable moments of college days, failure stories and learnings derived from it and old memories with their batch mates and Faculty members.



Post Budget Panel Discussion-2020 on 6th February 2020:


The Post Budget Panel Discussion 2020-21 was organized by “Money Tech” the Finance Club of JIMS, Kalkaji on 6th February 2020. The delegates for the Post - Budget Panel Discussion-2020 were Dr. S.P. Sharma, Chief Economist, PHDCCI, Mr. Yogesh Gauba, President, Ansal Properties & Infrastructure Ltd., Mr. Harkesh Tara, Vice Chairman, Institute of Cost Accountants of India (Northern India Regional Council) and Mr. Lohit PratapVatsa, Chartered Accountants, Vatsa & Co. Director General, JIMS Kalkaji Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth welcomed the panelists and expressed his views regarding increase in expenditure for education sector. Dr. Sharma explained students how through allocation of 2.10 lakh crore rupees for agriculture sector and disinvestments proceeds from LIC, PSU and other sectors, the Government will fill the gap of fiscal deficit. Mr. Yogesh Gauba, explained that the core theme of the budget is to lead to ease of living through aspirational India, caring society and economic investments. Mr. HarkeshTara explained the significance of cost in export competitiveness in the world market and hence emphasized on cost reduction measures to make our products globally accepted and competitive. Mr. Lohit PratapVatsa, explained about PERSONAL TAXES, the new tax slabs, impact of DDT removal and who would prefer it. Director Prof Dr. J. K Batra expressed his views regarding infrastructural reforms and tax reforms introduced in the budget 2020, HOD (IB) Prof Dr. Preeti Singh expressed thanks to panel members for sharing their expertise with JIMS Kalkaji students and Professor Dr. NeelamTandon (Finance Club Coordinator) shared the hard work and dedication of “Money Tech”, Finance Club students for organizing the Post budget panel discussion.



“Money Tech”: Finance Club Initiative: Pre Budget Panel Discussion 2020:


Pre-budget panel discussion 2020 was organized by JIMS Kalkaji’s “Money Tech: Finance Club”. The event was started by PGDM and PGDM (IB) students in which they discussed the importance of a budget for the economy. The event was basically structured in the form of competition in which four teams participated and giving their take on different sectors of the economy which was taken into consideration of last year's budget i.e, 2019-2020. The teams were judged on four parameters i.e, Content, Co-ordination, Query Handling and Presentation. The teams discussed the developments on last year's projects and what we as a citizen can expect from the budget 2020-21. Prof .Dr. J K Batra (Director JIMS Kalkaji) appreciated the hard work, passion, dedication and consistent performance of Finance Club members.
