FDP ON “HOW TO DEVELOP MOOC COURSES" ON 16TH MAY, 2022:
JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "How to Develop MOOC Courses" on Monday 16th May, 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Tejinderpal Singh, Associate Professor at University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Marketing and Business Communications (IJMBC). Dr. Singh is a successful MOOC instructor who has developed and delivered the ‘Digital Marketing’ MOOC courses ranked among the top 15 online courses worldwide (amongst the top 5 in India) on the SWAYAM platform of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Dr. Tejinderpal Singh deliberated the session on the importance of MOOC courses and how to develop a MOOC course. He explained how MOOC courses can be engaging and interactive and how it helps to contribute back to society. He discussed the framework of instructional course plan design for developing MOOC courses by faculty members. He emphasized the initiation phase to define the Course learning Outcome and measure it followed by subject content development. Also, explained how content development along with video development strategic planning is important in making MOOC course content effective and engaging. Dr. Singh explained how the video of short duration with supporting E-resources can keep viewers engaged. Dr. Tejinderpal Singh also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also shared his experiences in developing MOOC courses. The session was very informative and insightful. FDP ON “OUTCOME-BASED LEARNING & HAPPINESS” ON 7TH MAY, 2022:
IMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "Outcome-based Learning & Happiness" on Thursday 7th May 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur on different sessions on the topic "Action on Happiness" and "Outcome Based Learning". Dr. Prabhat Pankaj initiated his address by highlighting the faculty members on pleasant life, good life & meaningful life. He focused on the 4 pillars of student-centric teaching- Learning and just not teaching, Outside classroom and not just inside classroom, innovative pedagogy and not just learning, leading by examples and not just transactional. The session further also discussed the escape-folding discipline approach. FDP emphasizes on various aspects of teaching effectiveness to be explored within the changing dynamics of the educational environment. Dr. Prabhat Pankaj also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also shared his experiences on happiness. The session was very informative and insightful. FDP ON QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS USING NVIVO ON 23RD FEB 2022 & 2ND MARCH 2022:
JIMS, Kalkaji organized two days FDP on "Qualitative Analysis Using NVIVO" on 23rd Feb 2022 & 2nd March 2022. The resource person was Dr. Navneet Gera, Professor & HOD, PGDM (IB), JIMS, Kalkaji who initiated the session and discussed about qualitative methods used in data analysis. On first day, Dr. Gera emphasised on using mixed methods which involves both quant data and quali data which increases validity of results. Transcripts were imported in NVIVO for content analysis. Techniques such as word frequency, text analysis and word cloud were used to analyse the data. Different methods of coding were discussed during FDP. Auto-Coding and manual coding both were discussed. On second day, Sentimental analysis using NVIVO was demonstrated and tweets from twitter handle related to MakeinIndia and Blockchain were explored for positive and negative sentiments.
SDP On Personality Assessment held on 31st March, 2022:
A Staff Development Programme on Personality Assessment was organized on 31st March 2022. Dr. Anju Shukla, Assistant Professor in HRM and Organisation Behaviour from PGDM addressed the Staff. Keeping in mind the relevance of assessing and improving Personality of an individual as personality is a scientifically - proven predictor of job performance, motivation, commitment behavioural tendencies of an employees in a work environment. It allows the employees as well as employers to have a better understanding of themselves so as to work in an effective and efficient manner. Dr. Shukla helped the staff in assessing their personalitytypes.
SDP On Enhancing Verbal Communication Skills held on 12th August 2021 :
A Staff Development Programme on 'Enhancing Verbal Communication Skills' of the staff was organised on August 12, 2021. Ms. Jyoti Kukreja, Assistant Professor, Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji, New Delhi shared various tips and tricks to enhance verbal communication skills of the staff members. Excellence is not an act but a habit with JIMS and making spoken skills is both requisite and a contemporary skill in today's world. Thus, what can make message effective when wrapped in the right set of words was discussed in detail. She shared various words and phrases along with some notifications involved such as in tone and pitch of the voice. Staff was really delighted with such a detailed session and looks forward to more such development programmes.

JIMS, Kalkaji organized an internal FDP on "Capitaline Database" on 31st March, 2021. Hands- on training on the Capitaline Database was given to the faculty members. Mr. Amit from Capitaline gave a detailed training to the faculty on the Capitaline database. He gave in depth over view of the 35,000 Indian listed and unlisted companies, classified under more than 300 industries, along with powerful analytic tools. Extensive data and analysis on every company profile, directors, more than 10-year financials (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, consolidated financial data, segment data, forex data, R&D data, ratios, etc), quarterly results, ownership pattern, finished products, raw materials, share price data, directors' report, management discussion, notes to account, business news, corporate events, etc. were shown. IT Training on IT tools on 5th October 2019 :
Training programme for staff on “IT training on IT tools” was held on 5th October 2019” and attended by all the non-teaching staff members. The Program was organised on Microsoft Office Tools. There were three training modules on Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point. The purpose will be to impart basic skills so that the non-teaching staff becomes comfortable in creating small reports and presentations with embedded graphics, plots, images,and tables. Hands-on training was given to make them aware about the various software tools available, which can add on more speed, accuracy and efficiency in their typing skills. She made the participants comfortable with typing tutor software and made them learn the basic techniques by having hands-on experience on the actual software so that they can use the keyboard efficiently and get familiar with the dynamics of keyboard environment. .....

FDP ON "E-LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF E-CONTENT" FROM THU, 9TH TO TUE, 14TH MAY 2019 :

Mr. Udit Bhattacharya, Innovation Strategist along with Mr. Arvind Patil and Mr. Shrikant Ghode, Product Designer, Pearl Academy addressed the faculty members.A Faculty Development Program on Design Thinking in Management and Business Plan is designed to provide educators with the knowledge and skills to apply design thinking methodologies in the development of innovative business plans. The program helps educators learn how to use design thinking principles to identify and solve complex business problems and develop customer-centric solutions.

Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was held in Kalkaji Campus from 14th to 26th May 2018 on Research Methods and Data Analytics .It aimed at enhancing the teaching and research skills of faculty, researchers and trainers. FDP ON “CASE STUDY METHOD” ON 16TH DECEMBER 2017 :
A one day Faculty Development Program (FDP) was organized by JIMS Kalkaji on 16th December 2017 on the topic “Case Study Method”. The FDP helped Faculty Members to gain an insight about Case study method of teaching as a pedagogical tool in teaching methodology, as this method has become an inherent part of course curriculum both at the National as well as International level.
Case writing is an art and a story telling making the audience thirsty for the product .Content, compatibility, multiple perspectives, explicit/Implicit concepts are tenets of case teaching & writing.
FDP ON "USE OF DATA ANALYTICS TO DETECT AND PREVENT FINANCIAL FRAUD" :
Faculty Development Program on "Use of Data Analytics was conducted at, JIMS, Kalkaji. Dr. Sen took up a couple of cases to illustrate how machine learning is helpful for fraud detection.
Fraud has become a major problem in e-commerce and a lot of resources are being invested to recognize and prevent it. The fraud detection models that were discussed were based on decision trees, random forest and logistic regression approaches. Open source R programming Language was used for the analysis. ....
FDP ON " BUSINESS 2025: SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS STRATEGIES” ON 9TH DEC, 2017 :
Faculty Development Program on “Business 2025: Sustainable Business Strategies” was conducted by Dr. Komal J Khatter,on 9th Dec, 2017. The major focus of the FDP was on updating the current and upcoming trends in strategies adopted by big organizations for achieving sustainability in an enterprise with minimal negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society, or economy. She discussed about the drivers of change for Business 2025, and how would business evolve in the next decade, highlighting the major characteristics of the Business 2025 as Global bazaar, Cautious Capitalism, Territorial Dominance, and Regional Market Place.. ....
FDP ON RESEARCH METHODS AND DATA ANALYSIS USING SPSS & AMOS FROM MAY 22ND -27TH , 2017 :
JIMS Kalkaji organized a one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Research Methodology and Data Analysis Using SPSS & AMOS’ in association with QT Analytics, a statistical consulting, training and education provider. The FDP was conducted by professional experts and eminent academicians Participants varying from research scholars to academicians and industry experts were from reputed corporates like National Stock Exchange, Institute of Economic Growth ,Kurukshetra University, Amity University, Amity University.
The FDP focused on skill development for Data Management by using statistical software packages like IBM SPSS 19.0 and AMOS. The training modules were specifically designed to provide comprehensive information about research methods, developing research proposals, hypothesis testing and data mining by using regression analysis........
FDP ON CASE BASED METHODOLOGY ON 6TH MAY, 2017 :
A Faculty Development Program on ‘Case Based Methodology’ was organized by JIMS Kalkaji on Saturday, 6th May 2017. The main purpose of this FDP was to train participants in participant centered case based methodology of engagement in class. Prof Harsh Verma in his first session explained the importance of achieving effectiveness in the class through case study in a teaching programme. He highlighted how the role of case based methods is different from other methods thereby explaining its suitability in classroom teaching.....
