Guest lecture on Ever-Dynamic policy framework and excellent strategic management in Indian Aviation Sector: Embarking Golden Era of Indian Economy:


A Guest Lecture was organized for the students of BBA and B.Com(Hons) on the topic “Ever-Dynamic policy framework and excellent strategic management in Indian Aviation Sector: Embarking Golden Era of Indian Economy” in the college auditorium. The lecture was held on 3 rd May, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Mr. Kunal Nagpal was invited as the speaker. He is an Alumni of BBA Batch of 2013. He shared his knowledge about Indian aviation industry with the students and role of Air India in revolutionizing the aviation industry. It was a great and a very interactive session. He was very thoughtful and it was an attention-grabbing lecture. The topics he covered were relevant and useful for the students. It was a knowledge gaining session. The students had highly recommended him for next alumni sessions.

Guest lecture on A ROAD TO THE CORPORATE CULTURE: Resume building and Soft Skills development on 12th and 13th October, 2022:


JIMS Kalkaji organized a seminar on the topic ‘A ROAD TO THE CORPORATE WORLD: Resume building and soft skill development’. The honorable speaker Ms. Jaspreet Kaur started the seminar by addressing the students with what a resume is, and how to build one. She also depicted the basic etiquettes an interviewee should have while giving an interview through a short role .

Guest lecture onHow to file an ITR" by CA Sachin Gupta:


An interactive guest lecture was conducted on 18th October on the topic ” How to file an ITR”. The resource person CA Sachin Gupta discussed the manner and mechanism of filing the return of income tax.He also discussed which ITR to be filed in case of different categories of assessees.

Guest lecture on Consumer Protection Act, 2019:


A Guest Lecture was organized for the students of B.Com (H) 2021-24 on 23rd July 2022 at 2 P.M. through Zoom with Ms. Muskan Khandelwal, Consultant, E&Y to help students understand the importance of Consumer Protection Act’ 2019 and its evolution.The session created awareness among students about various consumer rights and the dispute redressal system.

Guest lecture on Unlock your Skills without any Mushkil:


A guest lecture was organized for the students of BBA and B.COM(H) on 25th May 2022 at 12.00 PM in the Jims Kalkaji Auditorium with the speaker: Mr. Rishabh Maheshwari, the CEO of Doosra College, to help students understand how their firm will help students get practical knowledge through internships and he also spoke about his experience of how internships helped him do the hit and trial method to choose his interest of jobs.

Guest lecture on Importance of networking in the corporate world:


A guest lecture was conducted on 5th February’21 at 3;35 pm on zoom and discussed the benefits and methods of networking in professional life. The students were informed as to how being member of professional societies like Confederation of Indian Industries -Yuva facilitates access to better professional networks and how it can be beneficial for their career progression. Learning Outcome: The students learned about benefits of networking in the corporate world. The students gained an insight about the significance of professional bodies like Confederation of Indian Industries.

Guest lecture on Patent Life Cycle:


On 5th February 2021, a Guest lecture was held by Ms. Richa Nanda, senior IP Analyst, CPA Global to disseminate information about the ‘Patent Life Cycle’ for the students of B.Com(H)-morning and evening. It included a detailed discussion with the students who had attended this session. It was a very insightful session for informing students about patents and its life cycle. The session was attended by the students of B.Com (H) program of Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji. Learning Outcome: 1. Insights gained about patents and inventions 2. Methodology of patent applications and processes involved 3. Legal attributes of patent registration 4. Processes at all stages of Patent life cycle

Lecture was organised on “Menstrual Health” for BBA & Bcom (H) Girl students, on 29th October 2020, by BBA/ BCom Rotaract Club. Ms Ankita Sukhwal - CSR executive, UniCham India, spoke about the need of more synergistic and sustained progress on addressing menstruation-related needs, an effort for transforming girls’ experience to Menstrual Hygiene. More than 85 students benefited from the lecture.

Mr. Mohit Chadha - MANAGER, HDFC AMC, spoke about the need and the different ways of selling skilld and idesa for a growing organization to sell the products. More than 85 students benefited from the lecture.

A Guest Lecture was organised on “SThe New Normal - Post Covid-19 w.r.t. Jobs Banking & Marketing” for BBA & Bcom (H) students, On 21st September 2020, by MS. OSHIN JUAN. MS. OSHIN JUAN - PERSONAL BANKER DIGITAL SERVICES, BARCLAYS EXCURSION SERVICES, spoke about the post covid effects in banks and marketing for Bank business. More than 75 students benefited from the lecture.

Guest lecture on Intellectual Property Rights:


On 22nd October 2019  a Guest lecture was held by Ms. Shilpi Nanda on the topic Intellectual property Rights. This lecture was conducted for the students of BBA and B.Com(H).Around 50 students attended the lecture. During the Guest lecture the topics which were discussed are ;  Innovation, Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks, Trade Secrets , Industry Design and other topics related to Intellectual Property Rights.
The outcome of the Lecture was if in Future the students want to start their own Venture then what would be the benefits and legal formalities they have to fulfill, It was in overall a very knowledgeable and learning lecture.

Guest Lecture on “MBA as a Career”:


On 15th of October 2019, a session regarding MBA as Career Option was conducted for the students of BBA  and B.COM (H). The session was conducted by the resource person Mr. Kumar Abhishek Pathak - Chief Mentor at IMS. This session was organized in the Auditorium.

The session was conducted to clear doubts of students regarding MBA and also for offering coaching for cracking exams like  CAT, MAT, XAT. They discussed the techniques in various section like reasoning, Quantitative aptitude, English, General Awareness etc.Almost every college look at the CAT score in order to make any graduate as part of their college for MBA.

Students found this session as informative as well as interactive, ever detail regarding the exam pattern was also discussed and a brief of how the course will be covered in the coaching classes was also discussed.

Guest Lecture on “Water Conservation ”


“A drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man”
Water is an important natural resource and is the very basis for of our life. We use water for drinking irrigation industry transport and for the production of hydroelectricity water is a cyclic resource which can be used again. The demand for water among various sectors is increasing due to population growth and economic development. Due to our exploitation of water resources, it has become scarce in many parts of the country. Therefore, it has become necessary to conserve water. One of the most effective method is rain water harvesting.
A guest lecture was  organised for the students of BBA and BCOM(H) on 9th October 2019. The students were told the new ways to save water since water is a scarce resource and is an essential part of life. Even if each consist 70% of water body but only 30% of water is drinkable and in a county like India where the population is so vast it is a necessary to conserve water. Therefore, one of the ways to save water is rain water harvesting.
It is done for the storage of rain water. India has also invested in rain water harvesting. They had also talked about how in various areas the government has worked on in cleaning various areas. there also had been a talk on the ways to conserve water. We had also talked about the resources that why in today’s time rain water harvesting cannot be done since there are flats available now a days.
At the end, there had been a discussion on what are the ways in ways in which wastage of water can be reduced. The water which is wasted from the AC’s and RO purifiers can be used for cleaning washrooms, floors or for watering the plants.

Guest Lecture on “Latest marketing Strategies”:


Marketing has moved beyond the basics: email nurturing, retargeting ads, and content marketing. Instead, many of the most innovative marketers bolster those fundamental techniques with a handful of innovative marketing strategies borne from careful experimentation. Thus to create awareness about the latest marketing strategies by different organisations to capture a greater market share, a guest lecture was organized on “ Latest Marketing Strategies” on 9th October 2019. Dr. Amit Sharma, Vice President Abercrombie & Kent delivered this lecture. Dr. Sharma has over 17 years of experience Travel and Tourism Industry. Dr. Sharma talked about the current trend in the marketing strategies used by organisations specifically in the hospitality sector. He explained the marketing strategies used Trivago, Air BnB, Ola Cabs etc. He also stressed upon the usage of technology in new and innovative ways to come up with a product or service which caters to the rising needs of the market.

Guest Lecture on “Importance of Healthy Diet for Youth”:


Obesity in India has reached epidemic proportions in the 21st century, with morbid obesity affecting 5% of the country's population. India is following a trend of other developing countries that are steadily becoming more obese. Unhealthy, processed food has become much more accessible following India's continued integration in global food markets. This combined with rising middle-class incomes, is increasing the average caloric intake per individual among middle class and high-income households. Obesity is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, NGOs such as the Indian Heart Association have been raising awareness about this issue.
Thus, to create an awareness about healthy diet and its ability to curb obesity, the NSS wing of JIMS Kalkaji organized a lecture on “Importance of Healthy Diet fir Youth” on 7th October 2019. Dr. Ruby Aggarwal, an ayurvedic neutralist, conducted the lecture. Dr. Aggarwal has over 11 years of experience in the field of health and nutrition and is currently working with the Nirogyam health and wellness centre.
In her lecture, Dr. Ruby Agarwal talked about obesity and its ill effects. She also threw some light on balanced diet, healthy lifestyle habits and importance of exercise. The session came out to be a knowledgeable session where the students were able to know much in detail about the topic obesity and ways on how to remain fit and to lead a healthy life. It was a great experience for the students to understand the value of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Guest Lecture on MBA AS A CAREER OPTION :


A Guest Lecture on the topic MBA as Career Option was held for BBA III (M&E) on 11/09/2019. The speaker was Mr Srajan Rastogi-Business Head,Career Launcher. He guided the students on how to prepare for MBA for the very begining of their Undergraduate Program. He listed number of good institutes and told the students to make similar list and target for those institutes. Students asked many questions to which the speaker answered in detail.Overall it was a knowledgable session for the students.

Session on Yoga and Meditation:


A session was conducted by Ms. Alka Gupta- MD, BAFELon "Yoga and Meditation" on 3rd September 2019 for BBA I (M), BCOM(H) III (M) and BCOM(H) I (M). Students were informed about the importance and impact of yoga and meditation in our life. She also highlighted the fact that meditation not only improves the concentration but also releases stress and anxiety. Students performed meditation and then were asked about the feedback. Students participated with a great zeal and enthusiasm.

Guest Lecture on Career Opportunities in Media/Digital Media:


A Guest lecture was conducted for the class of BBA V (E) and BCOM(H) V(E) on the topic “Career Opportunities in Media/Digital Media” on 2/9/2019. The guest speaker was Mr Aishwarya Gupta-Chief Manager,Dainik Bhaskar, having over 8yrs of corporate experience. He highlighted the importance of identifying career milestones and charting the career path as per the individual needs. He also informed the students about the growth and power of digital media. Students enjoyed the lecture thoroughly.

Guest Lecture on Scope and opportunities for career in banking:


A special interactive session on the topic: Scope and opportunities for career in banking” was delivered by Mr. Anuranjan Gupta-Training Head,Oriental Bank of Commerce in the auditorium  on 2nd September 2019 for BBA V (M) and BCOM(H) V (M) students. He gave an insight about the various job options students have in the field of finance like investment banking, banking and insurance. Students participated with full enthusiasm. 

Guest Lecture on MBA AS CAREER:


A Guest Lecture on the topic MBA as Career was held for BCom (H) V (M&E) and BBA V (M&E) on 2/08/2019. The speaker were Mr Abhishek Pathak and Mr. Shaminder Singh-Trainer. They spoke about the various options open after BBA and BCOM(H). They also focused on persuing MBA from a good Univerity or College which would add extra value to the career of the students. The students got very useful information on how to start preparing for MBA

Session Intellectual Property (IP) an accelerated pathway to be an Unicorn:



JIMS Kalkaji organised a session on “Intellectual Property (IP) an accelerated pathway to be an Unicorn” for BBA and BCOM students on Tuesday, April 2nd 2019 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in College auditorium This workshop was conducted by  Mr. Vivek Dahiya and Saurabh Trivedi, directors of Boudhik Ventures Private Limited.
Boudhik Ventures (BV) came into existence to develop an ecosystem
facilitating ideas sailing through industry for public benefits.The firm aims at teaming up with innovators, entrepreneurs & organizations to assist them by developing strategies revolving around business growth, in domestic as well as global market, on the basis of innovative concepts.

 

Guest Lecture on Corporate Expectations:


A Guest Lecture on the topic Corporate Expectations was held for B Com (H) IV E on 6/03/2019. The speaker was Ms Molika Garg - Executive Director - Delite Honda . She spoke about the various facets of organizational life and threw light on the employee's Expectation and then further about the corporate expectations. The students attended the guest lecture in large number . Ms Molika was introduced to the batch by the faculty Ms Aditi Joshi and the students presented her a memento as a  token of appreciation . 

  • INFORMATION SESSION ON ADMISSIONS ABROAD:


    An information session on securing admissions abroad was conducted on 25th February, 2019 by Ms. Amanda Stevens who is the Manager of International Recruitment at State University of New York.
    The session saw 60 students in attendance (all from final year courses- BBA and B.Com.) and it opened with a brief welcome of the guests- Ms. Amanda Stevens and Ms. Aarti, her Indian counterpart and presentation of green initiative bamboo plants to both of them.
    Ms. Amanda was then invited to address the students about the admission process that is followed for students looking for higher education courses outside India and particularly in State University of New York. she highlighted how SUNY ranks as one of the best places to study for an international student and how the curriculum is comprehensive and replete with learning opportunities. She also clarified doubts and questions raised by the students who showed utmost interest in listening to what she had to say to throw light on the topic.

    Overall the session was very informative and students found it to be a very engaging exercise as they got to know about the procedure from an insider. Ms. Amanda was presented a memento and 8M journal kit by Prof. (Dr.) Rashmi Bhatia, Prgramme Director, BBA & B.Com. as a token of gratitude for delivering such a nice session to the students

  • Guest Lecture on "Management Accounting And Study Options In Australia" by Dr. Rodney Coyte (Senior Lecturer), University of Sydney

     :
    A special interactive session on the topic: Management Accounting And Study Options In Australia” was delivered by Dr. Rodney Coyte (Senior Lecturer), University of Sydney in the auditorium  on Friday, 28th September, 2018. The session started at 11 a.m. and continued for a duration of one hour.
    The guests and Director sir Dr. J.K. Batra were welcomed with a bamboo plant in furtherance of the green initiative by JIMS, Kalkaji. 
    he session was started by Dr. Coyte as he introduced the management accounting career and how it is being increasingly demanded in the world and specially in Australia. He highlighted the importance of management accounting discipline and the role of management accountants in business domains like performance Management system, data analytics etc. Everywhere management accountant had a role to play as decision making is a daily activity in every function of a business. 
    Further in the session, Dr. Coyte threw light on the study opportunities in University of Sydney. University of Sydney has been ranked no. 1 and no. 4 in Australia and worldwide respectively for graduate employability and employability is what makes the yardstick for a good  study course. University of Sydney focuses not only on imparting job skills through different courses but also on developing interpersonal skills and leadership skills of their students.
    he session ended with an open house for questions whereby students sought further clarity about the options for studying abroad and management accounting career.

    Guest Lecture on Effective Communication & Soft Skills:


    A Guest lecture was conducted for the class of BBA III(M) and B.com III(M) on the topic “Effective Communication & Soft Skills” on 25/10/2018. The guest speaker was Mrs. Divya Ahuja, having over 14yrs of corporate experience. Students enjoyed the lecture thoroughly as she inculcated lot of examples and her personal experiences in the lecture..
