FDP ON “QUALITY RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: FOUNDATION AND DATA ANALYSIS” :


JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "Quality Research Methodology: Foundation and Data Analysis” on 23rd and 24th May 2022. On 23rd May 2022, the session was delivered by Professor Dr. C. S. Sharma, SRCC, Delhi University. He took session on topics- Meaning of Reality: Traditional, Modern and Post- Modern View and its application in qualitative research, Epistemology and Ontology of Qualitative Research, Grounded Theory Approach: Identifying Codes, Categories, Themes and Concepts and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis and how to work on transcripts. On 24th May 2022, the session was delivered by Dr. H. K. Dangi, Associate Professor at Department of Commerce, Delhi University. He took sessions on topics- Content and thematic analysis, Sentiment analysis, Working on images, video and social media data and writing research paper using Qualitative Data Analysis. The two days FDP on qualitative research and methods was a unique learning experience for faculty members and it enhanced their level of understanding towards qualitative research.

FDP ON “HOW TO DEVELOP MOOC COURSES" :


JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "How to Develop MOOC Courses" on Monday 16th May, 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Tejinderpal Singh, Associate Professor at University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Marketing and Business Communications (IJMBC). Dr. Singh is a successful MOOC instructor who has developed and delivered the ‘Digital Marketing’ MOOC courses ranked among the top 15 online courses worldwide (amongst the top 5 in India) on the SWAYAM platform of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Dr. Tejinderpal Singh deliberated the session on the importance of MOOC courses and how to develop a MOOC course. He explained how MOOC courses can be engaging and interactive and how it helps to contribute back to society. He discussed the framework of instructional course plan design for developing MOOC courses by faculty members. He emphasized the initiation phase to define the Course learning Outcome and measure it followed by subject content development. Also, explained how content development along with video development strategic planning is important in making MOOC course content effective and engaging. Dr. Singh explained how the video of short duration with supporting E-resources can keep viewers engaged. Dr. Tejinderpal Singh also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also shared his experiences in developing MOOC courses. The session was very informative and insightful. Faculty members were highly appreciative of the session.

FDP ON “OUTCOME-BASED LEARNING & HAPPINESS” :


JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "Outcome-based Learning & Happiness" on Thursday 7th May 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur on different sessions on the topic "Action on Happiness" and "Outcome Based Learning". Dr. Prabhat Pankaj initiated his address by highlighting the faculty members on pleasant life, good life & meaningful life. He focused on the 4 pillars of student-centric teaching- Learning and just not teaching, Outside classroom and not just inside classroom, innovative pedagogy and not just learning, leading by examples and not just transactional. The session further also discussed the escape-folding discipline approach. FDP emphasizes on various aspects of teaching effectiveness to be explored within the changing dynamics of the educational environment. Dr. Prabhat Pankaj also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also shared his experiences on happiness. The session was very informative and insightful. Faculty members were highly appreciative of the session.

FDP ON "HOW TO CONDUCT EFFECTIVE MENTORING FOR STUDENTS" :


JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "How to conduct effective mentoring for students"' on Thursday 3rd February 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Aquil Busrai, CEO, Aquil Busrai Consulting, Fmr. Director (HR), IBM. Dr. Aquil Busrai initiated his address by highlighting the difference between coaching and mentoring. He focused upon benefits of mentoring for mentees and mentors and how it can be made an effective process which further made him point out the need for mentoring and its significance. Also, mentioning that to provide that comfort level of mentor with mentees, mentoring should be done more in an informal way than being very formal. The session further strolled into the need to have external mentors who have at least 3 years of experience and should have an perspective view of how it is to be working in the organizations by giving certain real life examples. Dr. Aquil Busrai also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also faculty members shared their experiences of how it is to be a mentor for the students. The session was informative and insightful. Faculty members were highly appreciative of the session.

FDP on Capitaline by Mr. Amit from Capitaline:


Faculty Development Programme on “Capitaline Database” was organized by JIMS Kalkaji on 31st March, 2021. Resource person for the event, Mr. Amit from Capitaline gave extensive training to the faculty on the usage of Capitaline database. A hand on exposure to digital database of listed and unlisted companies in India was given to the faculty members. The database comprises of company profile, directors, company’s financials (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, consolidated financial data, segment data, forex data, R&D data, ratios, etc), quarterly results, ownership pattern, finished products, raw materials, share price data, directors' report, management discussion, notes to account, business news and corporate events. Faculty members enthusiastically participated in the interactive session and were enlightened in domain of data usage from capitaline for research and comparative analysis. Company section of Capitaline database has extensive financial and non-financial information on Indian companies. Coverage of data on each company includes Balance Sheet, P & L, Segment Finance, Funds Flow, Cash Flow, Forex, R & D, Key Ratios, Quarterly Results, Finished Products, Share Price data, Raw Materials, Price Chart, Share-holding Pattern, Corporate events, Directors' Report, News, Research & Analysis. Faculty gained an insight on how to retrieve information from capitaline account. Also an aggregate data of all companies in one industry on one screen makes it easy for comparative analysis used in research.

FDP on “Case Study Method”  by Dr. Deepak Tandon:


One day Faculty Development Program on the topic “Case Study Method” was scheduled on 16th December 2017, from 10 am to 1 pm  at JIMS , Kalkaji Conference room. The session was taken by Prof. Dr Deepak Tandon, Professor (Finance and Accounting) IMI, Delhi. It was attended by 30 faculty members from all the four campuses of JIMS.
The FDP helped Faculty Members to gain an insight about Case study method of teaching, as this method has become an inherent part of pedagogy in higher studies.
He started by differentiating  between Case studies v/s Research. He shared his views on different ways of doing a case study in a class, to have more participation from students in classroom. He also emphasized on writing quality research papers.
The highlight of the FDP was, the way in which Dr. Tandon interacted with each of the faculty members to find out their interest areas and suggested them relevant topics for writing research papers which can be published. He then discussed his own research experience for different organizations which was valuable to everyone present in the FDP.
Professor gave inputs on creating cases and also provided faculty members with specific points for writing the cases.
Overall, the session was quite informative and beneficial for all the faculties and more such FDP should be conducted.

FDP on "Use of Data Analytics to Detect and Prevent Financial Fraud":


Faculty Development Program on "Use of Data Analytics to Detect and Prevent Financial Fraud" was delivered by Dr. Swapna Sen. Dr. Sen took up a couple of cases to illustrate how machine learning is helpful for fraud detection.

FDP on " Business 2025: Sustainable Business Strategies” on 9th Dec, 2017:


Faculty Development Program on “Business 2025: Sustainable Business Strategies” was conducted by Dr. Komal J Khatter on 9th Dec, 2017. The major focus of the FDP was on updating the current and upcoming trends in strategies adopted by big organizations for achieving sustainability in an enterprise with minimal negative impact on the global or local environment, community, society, or economy. She discussed about the drivers of change for Business 2025, and how would business evolve in the next decade, highlighting the major characteristics of the Business 2025 as Global bazaar, Cautious Capitalism, Territorial Dominance, and Regional Market Place.

FDP on Research Methods and Data Analysis using SPSS & AMOS from May 22nd -27th , 2017:


JIMS Kalkaji organized a one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Research Methodology and Data Analysis Using SPSS & AMOS’ in association with QT Analytics, a statistical consulting, training and education provider. The FDP was conducted by professional experts and eminent academicians from 22nd – 27th May in our Kalkaji Campus. Participants varying from research scholars to academicians and industry experts were from reputed corporates like National Stock Exchange and colleges like Ramjas College, Institute of Economic Growth and Bhimrao Ambedkar College, Delhi University, Kurukshetra University, PAU, Ludhiana, University of Lucknow, BR Ambedkar University, Delhi, Amity University, DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, BVIMR, New Delhi, Periyar College, Greater Noida , Amity University.

Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General JIMS Kalkaji and Dr. J. K Batra, Director JIMS Kalkaji welcomed Dr. Prabhat Mittal , QT Analytics, all the delegates and resource persons like Dr. Neelam Tandon, Associate Professor, JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. Timira Shukla, , Professor, JIMS Kalkaji and Dr. Preeti Singh, Professor, JIMS Kalkaji. They spoke on elements of ‘Good Research’ and importance of research methods and statistics in the field of research.

Faculty Development Program on "Researching Emerging Markets for Enhancing India’s Exports in Goods and Services":


An FDP was conducted  on "Applications of Research Techniques in Management"  on Tuesday13th  January 2015. Dr. Namita Rajput, Associate Professor, SriAurobindo College,  Delhi University addressed the session.

Faculty members from all the JIMS campuses were present. The  focus  was  on  Research  techniques  which  should  be  applied  to  test  the  hypothesis,  and  the  research  tools  and  the  regression  model.  She  also  gave  a  practical  exercise  on  regression model specifically to apply while doing research.

An FDP on Opportunities for Research in Social Sciences with ICSSR was conducted on 19th December, 2014 :


An FDP on "Funding Opportunities in ICSSR" by Dr. Reena Marwah, Senior Consultant, NHRD, Govt. of India, was conducted on 19th December, 2014 in JIMS Kalkaji. All faculty members and HODs from all JIMS campuses attended the FDP.

An FDP on ‘ High Impact Presentation Skills” was conducted on 17th November, 2012:


An FDP by Mr. Ignace Hindrick , Senior Consultant, India Consult, India and Belgium on ‘ High Impact Presentation Skills” was conducted on 17th November, 2012,. All faculty members and HOD’s from all JIMS campuses attended the FDP. Mr. Hindrick spoke about the techniques of making effective and powerful presentations.  He cited example of Steve Jobs and also showed some of his winning presentations to illustrate various presentation styles.

Emerging Issues in International Business Environment:


Prof. B. Bhattacharyya, ex-Dean IIFT, New Delhi conducted a Faculty Development Programme on “Emerging Issues in International Business Environment” on 8thSeptember, 2012. All Directors, HODs and faculty members from all JIMS campuses participated in the FDP. Prof. Bhattacharyya spoke on various issues like the global economic downturn, the euro- crisis and economic convergence. He highlighted the need for sustainable innovation to tide over the grim economic situation.
